“H” and “HL” Hinges
“H” and “HL” Hinges available in 3” and 7” sizes are typically used for cabinets and interior doors. The “HL” hinges come in matched pairs that consist of a “HL” right reading and a “HL” mirror image hinge. The 3” hinges are 3” tall by 2” wide in the “H” shape and 3” wide in the “HL” shape. The 7” hinges are 7” tall, and 3” wide in the “H” shape and 7” wide in the “HL” shape. The thickness of all hinges may vary due to manufacturing methods, but is typically greater than 1/8” thick.

Hinges
Hinges are available in four basic shapes, two styles and numerous sizes. Shapes are “H”, “HL”, “T”, and Strap. Styles are Bean cusp, Spear cusp, and other decorative like the Butterfly. Sizes vary from 3” to 24”. Typically the smaller sizes like the 3” are used on cabinets, and the mid range sizes like the 6” and 7” are used on interior doors. The larger sizes like the 12” up to 24” are used on exterior doors and heavy shed and barn doors.
“T” Hinges
“T” hinges are available in either the Bean cusp or Spear cusp or 10” Butterfly style, with the “T” available in 6”, or 12” sizes. The mounting plates for 6” “T” hinges are 1.0” x 3.5”, the mounting plates for the 12” “T” hinges are 1.25” by 5.5”. The thickness of all these hinges is typically greater than 1/8”.
Strap Hinges
Strap Hinges available in either the Bean cusp or Spear cusp, and in 18”, 21”, and 24” sizes. The pin may either be mounted using a plate, or a screw. The thickness of all these hinges is typically greater than 1/8”.
